Planet in motion

60% of our products use more responsible materials, reducing the environmental impact of our collections. Our teams work daily to select certified organic, recycled, or responsibly sourced materials, which now make up the majority of our collections:

+ 74% of our cotton is organic or recycled

+ 57% of our polyamide and polyester is recycled

+ 76% of our viscose comes from sustainably managed forests

+ 86% of our wool is recycled

GOTS + OCS + GRS + RCS + LENZING ™ ECOVERO ™ + RWS

In order to reduce our direct emissions (scopes 1 and 2), we have worked on improving the energy efficiency of our offices, warehouses and stores. Between 2019 and 2024, energy consumption was reduced by 22%. Our premises in France, Belgium, Spain and Poland are now powered by renewable energy.

A series of actions have contributed to the reduction of our indirect emissions (scope 3), such as:

+ Choosing organic or recycled materials
+ Limiting air travel
+ Using innovations in textile manufacturing processes
+ Reducing the use of single-use plastics

Our goal

To reduce our greenhouse gas emissions
per unit produced by 40% by 2030
to align with the Paris Agreement

The use of chemicals of concern is strictly prohibited in the manufacturing process of our products. The list of prohibited substances is regularly updated and, as a precaution, includes substances that are authorised by regulations but are currently under investigation. Our teams carry out tests and checks to ensure compliance with this rule. This expertise is essential to guarantee the safety of our products.

When we use animal-derived materials, we ask our suppliers for a Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) certificate, which prohibits cruel practices towards animals. If this certificate is not available, we request a letter of commitment including traceability back to the primary material supplier (farmers). Exotic furs and skins, as well as materials from endangered animals, are prohibited.

sublimation

Used for years to print patterns, sublimation technology has been repurposed by Etam to print solid colours after two years of R&D. Thanks to this process, the ink is impregnated directly into the fabric, avoiding the need for dye baths. This revolutionary process reduces water usage by 100% when applying solid colours. The result is a more agile technique capable of printing 50 metres of fabric in just one hour, offering an infinite range of colours.

Benefits compared to conventional dyeing:

+ 49% reduction in climate change emissions
+ 41% reduction in freshwater eutrophication
+ 70% less energy required
+ 36% less use of fossil resources

no dye

Reducing environmental impact also requires the courage to rethink the way we produce. We have worked closely with our key suppliers to reduce the dyeing phase for polyamide products in ecru colours. By carefully adjusting the steps before and after, the dyeing and post-forming stages, which consume a lot of water and energy, have been eliminated.

This innovation reduces carbon emissions by 77% compared to conventional dyeing.

Our mission? To offer women innovative solutions to simplify their daily lives, including collections of menstrual panties and swimwear that combine comfort and effectiveness, and are part of a more environmentally friendly approach. In order to offer safe and clean products, we have implemented a rigorous laboratory testing process to ensure that our period panties and swimwear are free from per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). This process consists of:

+ Prioritising mechanically processed textiles when choosing materials in order to reduce the use of chemicals
+ Carefully selecting materials that have not been manufactured using PFAS
+ Carrying out tests by independent, accredited laboratories
+ Regularly checking finished products

Hypoallergenic - PFAS-free - Gynaecologically tested
